A photo exhibition in Sweden stimulates tourism to China

A photo exhibition showcasing tourist destinations in Sweden opened on Tuesday at Beijing Capital International Airport. The organizers aim to boost tourism and cultural exchange between the two countries.

The two-month exhibition coincides with an increase in air traffic between the two capitals. Air China will begin operating daily flights between Beijing and Stockholm on March 31, according to China Daily.

"The photo exhibition strengthens cooperation between Beijing Capital International Airport and its sister airport, Stockholm Arlanda," said Con Xin, a spokesman for Beijing Capital International Airport.

According to the exhibition organizers, this event promotes Swedish tourism and international flights, contributing to the recovery of the civil aviation industry.

Swedish Ambassador to China Per Augustsson believes that cultural events like the exhibition will attract more Chinese tourists to Sweden and promote people-to-people exchanges.

"Although the number of Chinese tourists to Sweden remains below pre-pandemic levels, we have seen a significant increase," said Augustsson, noting this as a positive development for communication between the two nations.

The Beijing-Stockholm route is part of the airport's broader strategy to expand international flights as the industry recovers from the pandemic. This year, the airport plans to receive 80,000 international flights and serve more than 150 million passengers.
