A family of 6 traveling to Dubai faced problems on board. The crew failed to provide nut-free meals at the request of the mother, whose son suffers from severe allergic reactions.

The family was assured that there would be no allergens on board and warned passengers to refrain from snacking on nuts, but eventually the family was disembarked from the plane. The traveler shared her outrageous story with the Daily Mail.

The British Airways passenger felt "completely devastated" and "physically sick" because her flight was disrupted. She received assurances from the crew several times that the flight would be safe for her son, but on board the tourists found a dish with shrimp and cashew nuts on the menu.

The outraged mother recalled that at first she was told that the cashew nut dish would be replaced. Then, three members of the ground staff came on board and said that it was decided that it would be "better" for her family to get off the plane.

Instead of getting rid of the allergen, British Airways disembarked a family consisting of two elderly people, a parent and two children. The 6 passengers were forced to go home and return the next day when they were offered another flight without nuts on board.

Although the company compensated the tourists for the lost day of rest, the family considers the experience very traumatic and intends to file a claim against the carrier.
