During the winter tourist season, the Sultanate of Oman offers a variety of destinations that will leave travelers with the most vivid impressions. Local officials are working to popularize the winter season among the local community as well as among tourists from abroad.

With this in mind, the Ministry of Tourism has begun to advertise this year's winter tourism season in Oman in the target markets of Europe, Asia, and the Gulf countries. To this end, advertising campaigns, business meetings, and study tours for the media are being organized, writes the Times of Oman.

In addition, to promote Oman's winter season, seminars are being held in India and the Gulf countries, and introductory seminars are being organized in Italy and Germany. The focus on these markets was based on the fact that these markets are considered the main source of tourists.

At the same time, the participation of the Sultanate of Oman in important international tourism exhibitions, such as the World Travel Fair in London 2023, helped promote local tourist destinations and also contributed to a deeper familiarization of visitors with the variety of products and experiences in tourism in the Sultanate of Oman.

At the same time, Oman's official partnership with ITB Berlin 2024, the leading travel trade fair, is helping to provide more opportunities to showcase cultural elements and features. All of this aims to help promote tourism in Oman and attract even more tourists.

With this in mind, local government officials note that hotel facilities of various types in the Sultanate of Oman include more than 32,000 rooms across all governorates. At the same time, the local government is working to ensure that these hotels meet the required specifications. Hotels offer many different travel packages and organize trips to major tourist destinations.

Winter tourism in Oman

As noted in the article, the Sultanate of Oman offers a wide range of experiences and destinations in the winter season. Camping is considered one of the tourist products promoted in the market. Camping in winter adds value to the tourism sector and provides a unique tourist experience that can be combined with other tourist destinations.

In Oman, tourism programs and recreational activities for visitors help familiarize them with desert life and Omani authenticity. This includes camel rides, sand climbing, sunrise and sunset watching, hiking, and desert adventure travel.

At the same time, winter camps in Oman create local added value by enriching local communities. Such programs allow residents to provide ancillary services, sell local products, and hire citizens to organize tourist tours.

Al Jabal Al Akhdar offers travelers adventure travel and the opportunity to experience the culture and history of Oman. It has exceptional weather and stunning nature, where temperatures drop below freezing in some winter seasons. Tourists are attracted to the valleys, ancient villages, and many attractions. The cool atmosphere, pleasant mountain life, and unique agricultural products help attract more tourists to this tourist destination.

Tourists also have the opportunity to get to know the local community and learn about their daily lives. In addition, travelers can enjoy a fun and interesting adventure and hiking trip through the mountains.

Another point of interest is the turtle sanctuary. The reserve is one of the ecotourism destinations in Oman. Numerous tourists willingly visit the turtle reserve to enjoy watching turtles in their natural habitat.

In turn, the governorate of Dhofar has implemented tourism programs and activities, as well as used all the means and tools that have strengthened its position as one of the leading destinations in the Sultanate.

The local tourism industry is truly impressive. In addition to the picturesque nature and heritage and archaeological sites listed on the World Heritage List, the Sultanate of Oman is world-famous for its water sources, valleys, caves, extreme tourism, marine sports, and desert tourism.

All this incredible diversity contributes to a wide range of tourist experiences, including adventure tourism, marine sports, and desert tourism.
