OpenAI plans to help destinations improve the travel experience
OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, intends to help cities and resorts improve the visitor experience with the help of artificial intelligence. AI is expected to offer personalized recommendations that go beyond general "to do" lists.
Currently, the company cooperates with the city of Dublin to implement such an initiative. It is reported by PhocusWire.
In partnership with the Dublin-based consulting company Data & Design, OpenAI will create a proof-of-concept for the Dublin Itinerary Planner based on GPT-4. Thus, the new tool will provide more unique and accessible offers, making the city more lively for tourists.
In addition, the partners aim to hold a seminar for destination leaders across the European Union in September this year. At the seminar, they will demonstrate how to use artificial intelligence to promote cities to attract tourists.
"There is no doubt about the transformative power of OpenAI technologies such as GPT-4. This collaboration is about creating tools that harness that power for the benefit of visitors to Dublin - in this case, by providing customized itineraries created with generative AI. I'm delighted to be working with Dublin City Council and OpenAI to build this prototype, and the approach we're taking has significant scope for scaling to other cities and experiences," said Data & Design founder Rudy O'Reilly Meehan.
Earlier, TravelWise reported that artificial intelligence has identified the most relevant destinations in Europe in 2024.
