Malaysia to resume search for missing flight MH370
Malaysia has announced the resumption of the search operation for the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370. International passenger flight MH370, carrying 229 passengers and 12 crew members, disappeared from radar on March 8, 2014, while flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
The decision to resume the search for the plane, which disappeared 10 years ago for unknown reasons, was announced by the Minister of Transport Loke Sue Fook. The Daily Express reports.
According to Loke Siew Fook, to resume the search, the Ministry of Transport should invite the British company Ocean Infinity, which uses robots to obtain information from the ocean and seabed, to cooperate. Thus, Loke hopes that cooperation with the company will help to find important information about the plane and reassure the next of kin of the MH370 victims.
He added that a new search operation will be conducted after receiving contractual evidence from Ocean Infinity. Loke said: "I promise that I will do my best to get the approval of the Cabinet of Ministers, to sign an agreement with Ocean Infinity to resume the investigation and search as soon as possible (depending on the outcome of the meeting)."
Earlier, TravelWise reported that Malaysia will be able to receive a record number of tourists in 2024.
