Following the footsteps of movie characters: The best destinations
Popular feature films often inspire moviegoers to do incredible things, sometimes the most dramatic. Among them, a special place is occupied by the marriage proposal, which is often depicted in romantic dramas.
In these movies, the proposal is usually accompanied by a panoramic shot of the surrounding landscape and then a passionate embrace between two beautiful people. At the same time, many people are inspired by some proposal scenes from popular culture, Thrillist writes.
For example, Harry and Sally got engaged in New York, Edward and Vivian from Pretty Woman in Hollywood, California. It is not surprising that 40% of Americans plan to travel to places inspired by pop culture this year. Moreover, there are already studies of popular movie scenes that are ranked based on the popularity of filming locations.
Because of the magic of the movie, many filming locations are different from the places we often think we see on screen. For example, when Edward first proposes to Bella in Twilight: Breaking Dawn, they are not standing in the woods around Forks, Washington. Instead, they are in the woods around Griffith Park Observatory in Los Angeles.
However, you don't have to go all the way to Los Angeles to find a great deal. Baltimore, Pasadena, and Philadelphia are among the best deals.
