Emirates Brings Holi Celebrations to the Skies
In an exciting announcement, Emirates has declared its plans to mark the vibrant festival of Holi, celebrated widely across India, on the 24th and 25th of March. The airline will offer a unique experience to its customers on select flights to India, featuring festive Thandai drinks and delightful Holi treats, promising a memorable journey for those traveling during this colorful season.
Passengers aboard Emirates flights to and from seven key Indian destinations – Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Mumbai – will be treated to the traditional Indian sweet, Kesar Gujiya. This delightful dessert, a deep-fried dumpling filled with solidified milk and dried fruits, will be served in specially designed boxes that capture the essence of Holi's exuberant colors and joy. To further enhance the festive mood, First and Business Class passengers will be welcomed with Thandai, a refreshing cold drink made from milk and nuts, flavored with saffron and rose petals, embodying the spirit of the celebration.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, Emirates' customers can dive into the rich world of Bollywood with access to a vast collection of up to 260 Indian movies. The selection includes blockbuster hits such as "Pathaan," "The Great Indian Family," and "Gaslight," among others, providing entertainment that complements the festive vibe onboard. Moreover, the airline has curated a special collection from Yash Raj Films, known as the 'father of romance' in Bollywood, along with music videos and over 30 albums of Indian music, featuring a special compilation titled "Holi Hai!" for the occasion.
This initiative by Emirates not only celebrates the joyous festival of Holi but also underscores the airline's deep-rooted connection with India, a relationship that spans over 37 years of mutual history and cultural exchange. With 170 weekly flights to nine destinations in India, Emirates plays a pivotal role in connecting millions of passengers to this vibrant country from Dubai and beyond, celebrating the rich tapestry of Indian culture and traditions with the global community.
