Cost of living: why Italy has become a favorite for the British?
Many Britons are considering which countries can offer a more affordable life. After all, there are numerous places in Europe where the weather is better and prices are lower.
According to a study by YourOverseasHome, there is one European country where the cost of living is much better than in the UK. The undisputed winner of this comparison is stunning Italy, as reported by LadBible.
The study results revealed that buying food in Italy is relatively cheaper than in the UK, along with lower housing costs, as decorative items and cleaning products are also more affordable.
"Although there are a few cities and towns known for being expensive destinations, Italy stands out as the most budget-friendly place to live long-term if you live like a local rather than a tourist," the researchers write.
However, it is noted that the cost of living in Italy can vary significantly from region to region, but residing in a regular town or village away from the usual tourist areas in Italy is likely more economical.
Moreover, there are even some places in Italy that offer incentives for younger generations to relocate to specific towns and villages.
Nevertheless, when considering a move to Italy, it's important to take into account the necessity of obtaining a visa. Without a visa, you can only stay for up to 90 days within a 180-day period, and if you intend to work, you will likely also require a work visa.
