Boracay remains AirAsia's favourite summer island destination
Boracay remains AirAsia Philippines' most popular destination for both individual and group travellers, overtaking Bohol, Cebu, and Puerto Princesa. The latest statistics from AirAsia Philippines show that 250,000 tourists have already selected and booked tickets to the island for travel in February, March, April and May.
In addition, 72 percent of the 377,000 tourists brought to the island last year have already booked flights to Boracay. The Department of Tourism and local authorities in Aklan hope that the increase in the number of visitors will strengthen Boracay's economy as more than 2.3 million people are expected to visit the island this year. This is reported by tribune.net.ph.
"Boracay is among our top three most visited domestic destinations. We see an influx of guests arriving in Boracay not only in the summer but all year round. During the pandemic, this island was a haven for remote work. Now the island has regained its glory as a destination for short and long vacations," Steve Dalisan, AirAsia's Head of Communications and Public Affairs and First Deputy Chairman of the AirAsia Board, said.
To make travelling easier, especially for visitors who intend to stay longer on this idyllic island, TravelOnlinePH, AirAsia PH's travel partner, has officially opened its Travel and Service Centre right in the heart of Boracay. It caters to travellers who want to rebook tickets, find alternative flights or affordable accommodation, tourist attractions, and other travel-related services by providing them with expert travel advice.
Located at Station 2, the AirAsia Travel and Service Centre is very accessible to guests as it is also close to mid-range hotels, shopping malls, restaurants and bars.
"Guests fly to the island to relax and spend their vacations and we intend to always make their ticketing process hassle-free. TravelOnlinePH has always been a reliable offline partner and we sincerely congratulate everyone involved on reaching this milestone," Dailisan added.
Passengers can now book their travel and stay up-to-date with the latest travel rules, promotions and alerts via the AirAsia Superapp and the airline's official website www.airasia.com.
