Brussels Airlines and Tomorrowland Unveil Aircraft with Augmented Reality Design
Brussels Airlines and Tomorrowland have introduced a new aircraft with a unique augmented reality livery on their latest Airbus A320neo, "Amare." This innovative design represents the partnership between the Belgian airline and the popular music festival, emphasizing the theme of unity.
The livery, unveiled at an event in Brussels Airlines’ Maintenance & Engineering hangar, incorporates augmented reality technology, a first for an aircraft. The design allows the bird on the livery to come to life when scanned with social media apps like Instagram and TikTok, providing a new way for fans to interact with the aircraft's design.
The augmented reality aspect adds a unique storytelling dimension, with the design process taking 15 months to complete. The livery features intricate details, transitioning from feathers to fireworks and incorporating the Brussels Airlines logo. This new look is part of the airline's initiative to connect Belgium with the world and pay tribute to Tomorrowland, the globally recognized music festival.
Along with the innovative design, Brussels Airlines and Tomorrowland are focusing on sustainability. The new Airbus A320neo, which emits less CO2 and noise compared to its predecessors, demonstrates the airline's commitment to reducing its environmental impact. Furthermore, all Global Journey Packages sold by Brussels Airlines and Tomorrowland will now use Green Fares, offsetting carbon emissions through Sustainable Aviation Fuel and other CO2-reducing programs.
Amare's maiden flight is scheduled for April 26, 2024, to Tenerife, with flight number SN3781. The aircraft will also operate regular commercial flights, serving as a unique symbol of innovation and sustainability. This collaboration between Brussels Airlines and Tomorrowland is a notable development in the aviation industry, highlighting a new approach to aircraft livery and environmental responsibility.
