T'way Air Flight from Singapore to Incheon Delayed Due to Safety Check

A T'way Air flight from Singapore to Incheon, South Korea, experienced a significant delay due to a safety inspection issue with the aircraft. Flight TW172, carrying 285 passengers, departed from Singapore's Changi Airport at 2:15 a.m. local time but was forced to return to the airport 55 minutes later after safety concerns arose.

Following the incident, T'way Air conducted a thorough inspection and determined that the Airbus A330-300 was unfit for immediate flight. The airline dispatched a replacement aircraft from South Korea to Singapore, which is scheduled to depart Changi Airport at approximately 11 p.m., resulting in a delay of about 21 hours.

In response to the inconvenience, T'way Air provided affected passengers with accommodations at a nearby hotel and plans to offer additional compensation. The airline expressed regret for the disruption caused by the unexpected safety check.

This delay comes after the South Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport ordered T'way Air in June to address ongoing safety and delay issues following a series of international flight disruptions.
