New Bergen Route Links Lithuania’s Seaside With Norway
Norwegian has started direct scheduled flights connecting Palanga Airport with Bergen, expanding travel options between western Lithuania and Norway. The route launched on 31 March 2026 and will operate throughout the aviation summer season until the end of October. Flights run twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, offering a new link between the Baltic coast and Norway’s western region.
The new connection strengthens links between Norway and Lithuania’s coastal region, including cities such as Plungė, Telšiai, Šilutė and Mažeikiai. Local transport officials note that Palanga Airport continues to expand its network, with more routes becoming available for residents of western Lithuania. Bergen becomes the second Norwegian destination served from Palanga, alongside existing flights to Oslo.
Passenger numbers at Palanga Airport are increasing. In 2025, almost 448.4 thousand people travelled through Palanga Airport, which is 18.7% more than in 2024. The number of passengers was also higher in January and February 2026. The figures indicate continued interest in direct international routes serving western Lithuania and show that regional airports are becoming a more frequent starting point for trips abroad.
