North East Derbyshire has recently celebrated two significant achievements in local bus services, bringing excellent news for travelers in the region.Firstly, the Killamarsh-Sheffield route, discontinued last Autumn, was reinstated on May 13th thanks to efforts by local councilors, MP Lee Rowley, and Derbyshire County Council.

Additionally, the Hulley’s 80 service, connecting Killamarsh, Eckington Parish, Staveley, Mastin Moor, and Chesterfield, which was set to end in mid-May, has been saved. First Bus will take over and continue running this vital route.

Travelers in North East Derbyshire can now enjoy enhanced connectivity. The restoration of the Killamarsh-Sheffield route means easier access to Sheffield's attractions and amenities. This is a boon for both daily commuters and tourists looking to explore the vibrant city.

The continuation of the 80 bus service is equally significant. It ensures uninterrupted travel through some of the most scenic parts of Derbyshire, including quaint villages and historical sites. This route offers travelers the convenience of reaching key destinations without the hassle of changing multiple buses.

MP Lee Rowley expressed his satisfaction, highlighting the collaborative effort that led to this positive outcome. He emphasized that the swift response to Hulleys' decision involved immediate action and strategic planning, resulting not only in maintaining the service but also in its overall improvement.

Rowley extended his gratitude to the County Council, led by Cllr Charlotte Cupit, and the councilors from Killamarsh, whose persistent efforts have culminated in a successful resolution. This achievement is a testament to their hard work and the benefits of teamwork.
