Jet2.com has updated its travel rules so that children under two no longer need a ticket for flights to destinations across Europe, the Canary Islands, and the Mediterranean. This rule applies to all bookings made from Friday, 22nd August 2025. Previously, free travel for infants was limited to Jet2holidays package bookings, but the new policy now applies to all direct bookings with the airline.

Children must be under two at the time of travel to qualify for the free ticket. The airline has also revised its rules regarding checked child and infant equipment, allowing families to bring up to two items per child into the hold without additional charges. Allowed items include:

  • Collapsible pushchairs, prams, or buggies
  • Car seats or booster seats
  • Baby carriers
  • Travel cots

The standard 10kg weight limit does not apply to these items, and each child under two receives an additional 10kg baggage allowance.

For travelers, this update reduces the cost of including infants in travel plans. Tickets for children under two are no longer necessary, and important baby items can be transported without incurring extra fees. The revised rules specify which items can be brought on board, helping families prepare and organize trips with young children.

The revised policy also affects the practical aspects of travel. Checking in pushchairs, prams, or other infant equipment can now be done without concern for excess fees. This can help streamline airport routines, including check-in and boarding, and allows families to manage luggage more efficiently when traveling with infants.

“As a family friendly airline and tour operator, we are always looking at how we can make the experience even better for families travelling with us. By putting our customers first and making these changes, meaning that all children under 2 now travel for free whether on a package holiday or a seat-only flight, we are making travel even more accessible for millions of families."
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays

The update provides clearer rules for families traveling with children under two. By addressing both ticketing and equipment allowances, the airline establishes uniform conditions for all travelers with infants. This change ensures that families can plan trips with young children with a better understanding of costs and what is permitted during travel.
