Finnair has confirmed that its recently introduced routes to Luxembourg, Valencia and Turin will continue beyond summer and operate year-round. The airline had previously announced the services for summer 2026, but has now decided to extend them into the winter season, strengthening its European network through Helsinki.

Flights to Luxembourg will increase during winter, rising from three weekly services in summer to four per week. The route serves both business demand and transfer traffic through Helsinki to Finnair’s wider network. The airline says the adjustment reflects steady interest in connections between Luxembourg and Northern Europe.

“We are constantly developing our network and increasing capacity where it best serves our customers. Year-round connections ensure that our customers can enjoy smooth and reliable travel options throughout the seasons."
Antti Tolvanen, Finnair's Senior Vice President, Network and Revenue Optimisation

Valencia will retain four weekly flights throughout winter. Turin will operate once a week during the winter season, with frequency increasing to twice weekly during the peak winter sports period between January and March. During summer, Turin is served three times weekly. Stavanger and Umeå, announced earlier, will also continue year-round with multiple weekly services.

Winter frequencies at a glance:

  • Luxembourg: four weekly flights
  • Valencia: four weekly flights
  • Turin: once weekly, rising to twice weekly in peak season
  • Stavanger: nine weekly services
  • Umeå: ten weekly services

Keeping these routes active through winter opens up options beyond the typical cold-weather hubs. Valencia offers mild Mediterranean temperatures, while Turin provides access to Alpine ski resorts. Luxembourg remains a key European business centre, and Stavanger and Umeå support regional travel in Norway and Sweden. Together, the additions expand the range of winter city breaks and short-haul links available via Helsinki.

Keeping these routes in place through winter shows that the airline expects demand to hold beyond the summer months. A stable timetable allows passengers to plan ahead without relying on seasonal returns. With higher frequencies on selected routes and services running throughout the year, the winter schedule provides greater consistency for city breaks as well as onward travel through Helsinki.
