Beginning in May 2026, Norwegian will operate direct flights from Stockholm Arlanda Airport to Milan and Hamburg, expanding its network from Sweden. Both connections are scheduled for four weekly flights, allowing passengers regular and convenient travel to these major cities. Starting in June, travelers from Göteborg Landvetter will be able to fly directly to Tirana once a week. Together, these additions extend the range of destinations available to travelers departing from Sweden.

The routes are planned to accommodate summer travelers and provide clear scheduling for each destination. The first departures are scheduled for the summer season:

  • 13 May 2026 - Arlanda to Milan Malpensa, four weekly flights
  • 13 May 2026 - Arlanda to Hamburg, four weekly flights
  • 19 June 2026 - Landvetter to Tirana, one weekly flight
“We look forward to welcoming travelers on board to the new destinations, which starts up during the 2026 summer programme. We are pleased to be able to continue to launch new destinations and therefore be able to offer a large, wide and varied range of routes."
Charlotte Holmbergh, Director of Communications at Norwegian

Travelers heading to Milan will gain easier access to well-known sites such as Lake Como with its lakeside towns, the Duomo Square at the city’s center, and the Navigli canals, known for their vibrant atmosphere. Those arriving in Hamburg can take in the Speicherstadt warehouse area, the energetic atmosphere of St. Pauli, and the city’s significant port facilities. These new connections give travelers the choice of short trips or extended stays, allowing them to explore the variety of attractions each destination has to offer.

The new route from Göteborg to Tirana provides access to Albania’s capital and its surroundings. Visitors arriving in Tirana will be able to enjoy Dajti Mountain National Park, visit Skanderbeg Square in the city center, or explore the Blloku district, noted for its restaurants and active nightlife. For travelers departing from western Sweden, this direct flight makes trips to a destination that previously required one or more connecting flights through other European hubs significantly easier, while also providing added convenience and flexibility in planning.

The rollout of these routes illustrates a continuing move toward more extensive travel options for passengers from Sweden’s airports. By cutting down the reliance on transfers and increasing the number of direct connections across Europe, travelers can experience reduced travel times and enjoy more options and flexibility when arranging both business and leisure journeys. For travelers, the new routes are expected to make both business and leisure journeys more convenient throughout the 2026 summer season, while also providing access to a mix of well-established and less-frequented destinations across Europe.
