Starting April 1, Brussels Airlines will launch a new premium dining service for its long-haul Business Class passengers. The airline is introducing redesigned tableware featuring rounded, minimalist shapes made of fine chinaware, alongside new linens and uniquely shaped cutlery inspired by aircraft design. These additions aim to elevate the aesthetics and comfort of inflight meals, offering travellers a more elegant, high-end atmosphere while dining at altitude.

The airline is also adapting its inflight service approach, drawing inspiration from boutique hotels. Meals will now be served in a more personalised and discreet manner, with cabin crew delivering food directly to each seat. In addition to this, passengers will be able to select from a broader post-meal offering — including upgraded cheese boards, desserts, or freshly cut fruit — depending on their preference and route, particularly on return flights to Brussels.

This update offers several practical benefits. The personalized, hand-delivered meal service creates a more relaxed and less invasive cabin environment for passengers on overnight flights.Business travellers looking to relax and get away from noise or where uninterrupted work time is their top priority may derive more benefit from the reduced noise and movement, while leisure travellers get an exclusive, restaurant-in-the-sky experience.

Not only the variety of meals but also the bigger flavour of food caters to a much larger taste buds and need range that travellers are not fortunate enough to choose from inflight. This high level of customization is in line with the premium passenger need for the customer experience to be tailormade. With the rise of comfort and convenience as primary causes for travel choices, this service enhancement could affect long-haul airline booking intentions.

This move by Brussels Airlines signals a deeper focus on traveller well-being and experience. It highlights a shift in the industry, where airlines are investing in comfort-driven upgrades beyond seat design. For those flying in Business Class, the journey now begins not at the destination, but the moment they step onboard — a subtle yet significant change that reshapes expectations for modern air travel.
