Bratislava Gets First Direct Charter to Kenya
Slovak holidaymakers will get a direct link to Kenya next winter, with Čedok launching Bratislava’s first charter service to Mombasa in 2027. The new flight will connect Slovakia directly with Kenya’s Indian Ocean coast during the winter season, adding another long-haul option alongside Zanzibar and Egypt. The route follows a summer in which Čedok says demand from Slovak airports rose by more than 20%.

Čedok’s current Kenya packages include airport transfers, which matters because the resorts are spread along the coast. Diani Beach hotels can be around 45 km from Mombasa Airport, while Watamu and Malindi are roughly 135–140 km away. Slovak citizens also need an approved ETA before travel, including children. Standard applications usually take around three business days and cost about $30, so this should be arranged before departure.
Mombasa also works as a base for more than a beach stay. Diani Beach lies on the south coast, while Mombasa’s Old Town and Fort Jesus add an easy heritage stop. Haller Park and Mombasa Marine National Park are close to the city, and coastal holidays can also be combined with safari itineraries including Tsavo, one of Kenya’s best-known wildlife areas.
The weekly charter gives Bratislava-based travellers a rare nonstop option to Kenya, but the short February-to-Easter season will limit date flexibility. It should suit travellers planning a fixed winter escape or a beach-and-safari package more than those building an open-ended itinerary. Before booking, check the exact package dates, resort transfer distance and current Kenya entry requirements, especially if you are choosing Watamu or Malindi rather than the Mombasa area.
