Air Canada Expands Flights to India for Winter 2024-25

Air Canada announced a major expansion of its services to India for the Winter 2024-25 season, increasing seat capacity by 40%. Starting October 27, 2024, the airline will introduce new routes and increase frequencies to meet growing demand.

The expansion includes the only non-stop flights from Canada to Mumbai, operating four times a week from Toronto. Additionally, new daily seasonal flights from Calgary to Delhi via London Heathrow will enhance connectivity for travelers from Western Canada. Montreal-Delhi flights will also become a daily service, boosting the route's capacity by 44%.

This strategic move will see Air Canada operating 25 weekly flights to India, offering a total of 7,400 seats per week. The comprehensive network will provide passengers with numerous options for travel between the two countries.

"India is a vital market for us, reflecting deep family and trade ties," said Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President – Revenue and Network Planning at Air Canada. "We are excited to expand our network to Mumbai and Delhi, especially in time for the Diwali festivities. This expansion solidifies our position as the leading airline offering the most travel options between Canada and India."

The Toronto-Mumbai route will use Boeing 777-200LR aircraft, offering Air Canada Signature Class, Premium Economy, and Economy class services. These flights will facilitate convenient connections from North America via Air Canada's primary global hub.

The new Calgary-London Heathrow-Delhi service will operate with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, also providing multiple class options. The schedule has been optimized to connect with Air Canada's daily Vancouver-London Heathrow flights, ensuring smooth transfers to Delhi.

With these additions, Air Canada aims to cater to the growing travel demand and strengthen its presence in the India-Canada travel corridor, benefiting passengers with increased flexibility and connectivity.
