Volotea will add a new direct service between Aalborg Airport and Verona in spring 2026, giving residents of North Jutland a simple way to reach one of Italy’s best-known cultural regions. The Spanish airline plans to begin flights in April, using an Airbus A320 for weekly departures on Thursdays. The link offers a straightforward gateway not only to Verona itself but also to Northern Italy’s lakes, mountain areas, and historic cities. The new route comes with a clear timetable already in place.

Schedule:

  • Departure from Aalborg: Thursdays at 12:50
  • Period of operation: 2 April – 23 July, and 27 August – 22 October 2026

With the launch, Aalborg Airport strengthens its connections to Southern Europe and supports Danish tour operators that have long requested more direct access to the Italian north. Volotea’s presence at the airport builds on several years of cooperation, including its well-used Naples route.

Verona stands out as a destination for those interested in history, food, and open-air opera. It also works well as a starting point for exploring the area. Lake Garda is close enough for day trips and offers quiet walking routes, boat links between small towns, and plenty of places to relax by the water. The Dolomites offer dramatic scenery for hikers and winter-season visitors, while Venice, Bologna, and Milan are all accessible by regional trains or organised day trips. Tour companies such as NILLES Rejser and Gislev Rejser plan to expand their selection of group journeys around these areas.

With the addition of this link, people flying out of Aalborg can reach places that previously required several changes by air or rail. Lake Garda’s resorts, the historic squares of Verona, and the mountain passes of the Dolomites all become realistic options for shorter holidays. Those interested in cultural breaks will also find more direct access to Verona’s opera season, while food-focused travellers can explore Emilia-Romagna’s markets and wine routes with less complicated travel.

This new link gives Northern Denmark a fresh connection that has been missing in recent years. Even with only one flight a week, the new link lets people get straight to a part of Italy known for its cities, lakeside spots and easy routes into the mountains. For many people, it removes the need to change planes at larger airports and offers a simpler way to reach Northern Italy for both short breaks and planned group trips. As demand for Italy remains strong among Danish holidaymakers, the Aalborg–Verona service is likely to become a welcome addition for both organised group tours and independent trips.
