Your own food on board: can you take food in your hand luggage?
Experienced travelers know that food prices at airports are usually much more expensive than anywhere else. That's why some travelers decide to take something to eat on the road, either from home or by purchasing it at the nearest airport store.
In addition, tourists often buy local food to bring back home and share with their families, but not all "edible souvenirs" are allowed to be transported on an airplane. UNIAN, referring to The Sun, told what is allowed and what is strictly forbidden to be carried in hand luggage.
For example, the list of snacks allowed for transportation includes cookies, sandwiches, fruits, vegetables, and other solid foods. However, the ban on transportation applies to products containing liquids. In particular, we are talking about sauces, honey, soft cheese, canned food, yogurt, soups, juices and other products with a volume of more than 100 ml. Otherwise, such products must be in a transparent sealed bag with dimensions of approximately 20x20 cm.
At the same time, you can take hard cheeses, sandwiches, or even pizza in your hand luggage. Also, if a passenger is traveling with a child under 2 years of age, he or she can take baby milk, sterilized water, and other baby food in the amount necessary for the trip in hand luggage.
