You should forget about these foods and drinks if you want to avoid bloating: Tips from a flight attendant
It's no secret that certain foods can have a characteristic effect on the human body. However, a special reaction to certain foods and drinks can be felt during a flight.
A British Airways flight attendant told us what travellers should not consume in order to avoid discomfort and look normal upon arrival. This was reported in the Daily Star.
The flight attendant says that bloating can be one of the most unpleasant problems when flying long-distance. She said, "The combination of low atmospheric pressure, dehydration and prolonged sitting slows down digestion and causes gas to build up in the digestive tract. That's why you often experience bloating, gas, and nausea during a flight."
The reasons for this are usually poor nutrition, which is why the flight attendant recommends refusing to eat on board and bringing your own food. In addition, she reminds us that during a flight, people experience a loss of taste buds, which is why passengers try to artificially enhance the taste by adding more salt and oil, which leads to cramping. The airline employee recommends drinking mint tea before the flight and after landing every few hours to calm the nerves.
"For travellers who are trying to minimize bloating after a flight, I would advise not to eat anything heavy, spicy, or fatty before the flight. Instead, try to stick to fiber-rich foods that are easier to digest," the flight attendant said.
