Tourists who enjoy long train journeys should experience the 13-hour route from Aberdeen, Scotland, to Penzance, Cornwall, at least once. This 785-mile journey offers stunning scenery.
The train makes stops at 36 different stations, allowing passengers to either embark on the journey or explore new cities at their leisure. According to The Mirror, this route has been operating for 103 years.
The direct train journey lasts for 13 hours and 16 minutes, with a ticket for January 5 costing £265. The Aberdeen to Penzance route is considered the longest within the UK.
In April 2023, seasoned passenger Lewis Yeardley shared his impressions of the long-awaited train trip with Aberdeen Live.
"The highlights of my trip included crossing magnificent bridges such as the Tay Bridge, Forth Bridge, and Royal Albert Bridge. We also traversed beautiful coastlines like the Fife coast, the east coast, and the Dawlish Seawall. The journey was made even more enjoyable by the fantastic onboard staff, who were friendly, engaging, and simply fantastic," said the traveler.
