A yellow weather alert covers Scotland, Northern Ireland and parts of northern England on 4–5 April 2026. Forecasts indicate periods of strong wind in several areas, which may result in later departures or timetable changes on some flights. Travellers with flights scheduled for these dates may want to check their booking details and keep an eye on updates, as conditions can shift over the weekend.

Loganair says flights are still planned to operate, though wind may affect some regional services, particularly those linking coastal airports and island destinations. Smaller aircraft are often more affected by strong gusts, which can result in later departures or timetable adjustments if weather conditions become less predictable during the weekend.

Passengers booked on affected dates can move their flight to another available service within 14 days of the original travel date without paying a change fee or fare difference. Changes can be made through the Manage My Booking section on the airline’s website. Travellers who have already checked in will need to cancel check-in before selecting a new flight.

Airports Covered By The Weather Warning

  • All airports in Scotland
  • All airports in Northern Ireland
  • Isle of Man (IOM)
  • Liverpool (LPL)
  • Manchester (MAN)
  • Newcastle (NCL)

Moving a flight to another date may help avoid travelling during periods of stronger wind, especially on routes serving smaller regional airports where there are fewer departures each day. On some routes, the next flight may depart later the same day or only on the following day, which can affect onward plans if weekend departures are disrupted.

Strong winds expected over the weekend could affect some flights, particularly on routes linking smaller regional airports where there are fewer departures each day. Travellers with onward journeys may prefer to allow more time, as wind can sometimes lead to later take-offs or small timetable changes. Changing the travel date may help avoid possible delays if the weather worsens.
