We will tell you about the longest flights from LaGuardia Airport in New York
Unlike its neighbors at JFK and Newark Liberty International (EWR), LaGuardia Airport (LGA) is far from being an intercontinental mega-hub.
That said, it is still a key part of New York's airport network, serving tens of millions of passengers a year. Most of them travel on domestic routes, but which ones are the longest? Simple Flying tells us.
According to Cirium, an aviation analytics company, in 2024, New York's LaGuardia Airport will serve three routes with a length of more than 2,000 miles. All three are operated by Delta Air Lines, with the longest being 2,242 miles (3,608 km / 1,948 nautical miles) to Las Vegas Harry Reid International (LAS), according to GCMap.
However, as reported by AeroRoutes before Christmas, this route ends on February 24. Thus, in 2024, only seven departures are scheduled on this route, all of which use the 130-seat Airbus A220-300. Las Vegas has replaced Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) as the longest route from New York's LaGuardia, with this corridor ending in January of this year.
Delta Air Lines' route from New York LaGuardia to Phoenix Sky Harbor International (PHX) is less than 100 miles shorter than this corridor, with a length of 2,149 miles (3,458 km / 1,867 nautical miles). This route, which is served by 109-seat Airbus A220-100s, also ends on February 24, with only three rotations scheduled.
As TravelWise previously reported, a travel expert shared a simple life hack to avoid long lines at the airport. Large crowds can cause delays, stress, and unnecessary hassle, so passengers want to spend as little time at security as possible.
