Vietjet to Launch New Melbourne-Hanoi Route, Strengthening Vietnam-Australia Ties
In a significant development for international travel, Vietjet has announced the introduction of a new flight route connecting Melbourne, Australia, with Hanoi, Vietnam. This announcement was made at the Vietnam - Australia Business Forum 2024, highlighting the airline's commitment to catering to the growing travel demand between these two vibrant cities.
Vietnam's Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and The Honourable Jacinta Allan, Premier of Victoria, along with top leaders from both countries, were present to celebrate the launch. The initiative is seen as a pivotal moment for the Vietnam-Australia business community, coinciding with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to Australia.
Scheduled to commence on June 3, 2024, the service will operate twice weekly, offering a direct 10-hour flight connecting the capital cities of Vietnam and the state of Victoria. The flight timings are set for convenience, with departures from Hanoi on Mondays and Fridays and from Melbourne on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Melbourne, renowned as Australia's cultural hub and one of the world's most livable cities, and Hanoi, the thousand-year-old "City for Peace" with its rich cultural heritage, will be linked, facilitating easy and convenient travel. This connection not only brings the people and tourists closer but also bridges the gap between two continents.
Vietjet is not new to the Australian skies, with 58 weekly flights connecting Ho Chi Minh City to Australia's five major cities, including Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide. The airline's fleet comprises modern A330 and A321 aircraft, promising a comfortable journey with professional service, including a taste of Vietnamese and international cuisines.
The launch of the Hanoi-Melbourne route is a strategic move in Vietjet's expansion plans. It underlines the airline's efforts to foster cultural exchanges, educational opportunities, economic development, and tourism between Vietnam and Australia. This new route opens a channel for increased interaction and understanding, contributing significantly to the relationship between the two nations.
