Vietjet Launches New Route Between Ho Chi Minh City and Chengdu to Celebrate Lunar New Year
In a vibrant celebration marking the Lunar New Year, Vietjet has officially announced the inauguration of its new flight route connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Chengdu, China. This significant launch not only facilitates easier travel but also aims to bolster trade and tourism activities between Vietnam and China, enhancing the bond between these two dynamic regions.
The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of notable figures including Mr. Wei Huaxiang, the Consul General of China in Ho Chi Minh City, and Mr. Michael Hickey, the Chief Operating Officer of Vietjet. Together, they extended a warm welcome to passengers aboard the inaugural flight, symbolizing the strong diplomatic and cultural ties that exist between the two countries.
Vietjet is set to operate seven return flights weekly on this new route, with each leg of the journey spanning over four hours. This schedule demonstrates Vietjet's commitment to providing consistent and accessible travel options for passengers looking to explore the vast landscapes and rich cultures of both cities.
Chengdu, positioned in Southwestern China, serves as a crucial hub not only within China but also for international connections. Renowned as the 'homeland of Pandas' and a stone's throw away from Jiuzhaigou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, Chengdu offers a unique blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage. Conversely, Ho Chi Minh City, known for its vibrant trade centers and diverse cultural offerings, including Vietnamese street food, stands as an integral part of Vietjet’s extensive international network.
Passengers flying Vietjet are treated to a variety of Vietnamese and international culinary delights, from Banh mi to Pho Thin and dimsum, all served by dedicated cabin crews aboard modern, low-emission aircraft. Additionally, travelers benefit from complimentary Sky Care insurance and the opportunity to earn points through the Vietjet SkyJoy loyalty program, redeemable for vouchers from over 250 leading brands.
A special touch to the inauguration was the festive greeting extended to passengers across the country on the first morning of the Year of the Dragon. Vietjet leaders, staff, and cabin crews distributed smiles, well-wishes, and lucky money, encapsulating the spirit of joy and reunion characteristic of the Tet holiday.
This new route by Vietjet not only signifies the airline's expansion but also its role in fostering closer international ties and promoting cultural exchange, making it a noteworthy development in the landscape of Asian aviation and international travel.
