Despite the fact that the peak of the summer tourist season is still far away, preliminary statistics are already emerging. In particular, Turkey ranks first in terms of the number of bookings in the tourist markets of the UK, Benelux, Scandinavian countries, and Germany.

This is evidenced by the data collected from the World Travel Market WTM London in November and the Utrecht Fair in the Netherlands, according to the DailyNews.

Traditional professional travel forums allow observing how the season will begin and develop, as all tour operators, including German and British, are present.

The Turkish authorities have recently announced a goal of attracting 60 million tourists and increasing tourism revenues by $60 billion. In turn, Antalya is expected to exceed the figure of 17 million tourists this year.

According to representatives of the Turkish tourism industry, the European Union has recently recovered poorly from the pandemic and is now trying to create demand for tourism activities in its own domestic market, such as in Spain, Italy, France, Greece, and Portugal.

However, Turkish representatives emphasize that global tourism is impossible without Antalya and Turkey, as they offer benefits that are favorable to numerous consumers.

The article notes that during meetings with tour operators at the Berlin Fair, it was obvious that Turkey currently ranks first in terms of sales from the UK, Benelux, Scandinavian countries, and Germany.

At the same time, representatives of the Turkish tourism industry emphasize that the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, which are key source markets for Turkey, is a significant disadvantage. It is emphasized that the end of this war at the beginning of the second half of the season will be very positive for tourism.

In addition, Israeli-Palestinian tensions in southern Turkey also affect the arrival of tourists from the Middle East.
