Uzbekistan and China to strengthen cooperation in rail transportation
Uzbekistan and China have discussed prospects for deepening bilateral cooperation and productive promotion of future projects in the field of rail transportation.
This was discussed at a meeting of the Uzbek Railways with a delegation of representatives of the Chinese company CRRC Corporation Limited (CRRC), Trend reports.
Under the chairmanship of Hikmatullah Rakhmetov, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Railways JSC, and Sun Yongkai, Chairman of the Board of CRRC Corporation Limited, strategic steps to modernize rail transport were discussed.
The experts discussed important aspects, including the modernization of electric locomotives and the localization of production, which reflect the goal of increasing efficiency and competitiveness in this area.
According to Uzbekistan Railways, this meeting was another step towards establishing strong ties and expanding the horizons of cooperation in the railway industry between Uzbekistan and China.
CRRC manufactures products such as high-speed electric trains, powerful locomotives, freight and passenger cars, and urban rail transport. CRRC products are currently exported to about 100 countries.
