Critical Track Renewal Efforts at Slough Station: Plan Your Travel Accordingly
Passengers planning to travel through Slough station are advised to stay informed over the next three weekends due to essential track renewal work by Network Rail. This important maintenance activity aims to improve the safety and reliability of the railway infrastructure for all passengers. Scheduled from April 27 to April 28 and then again from May 11 to May 12, an amended timetable will be in operation. Additionally, during the early May bank holiday weekend on May 4 and May 5, services will be slightly reduced, resulting in longer journey times.
The track renewal project includes the removal and replacement of old rails, as well as the installation of new ballast, with over 4,000 tonnes expected to be laid and packed. Approximately 800 meters of rail will be replaced during this period.
Mark Parker, Network Rail’s project manager, expressed gratitude to passengers for their patience during these essential works. He emphasized the importance of checking the amended timetable before traveling, as trains may depart from stations at different times than usual.
