US and British Embassies in Russia warn of the possibility of terrorist attacks in Moscow
The U.S. Embassy in Russia has issued a warning to U.S. citizens to avoid large crowds over the next two days.
According to the agency, there have been reports of extremists planning to attack gatherings of people in Moscow. American citizens are advised not to participate in any events, including concerts, in the next 48 hours and to monitor the situation.
The US Embassy's website is currently unavailable, likely due to a hacker attack. These warnings from Western diplomatic missions may indicate that there is some intelligence information about the terrorist threat in Moscow from radical groups.
As TravelWise reported, Iceland has suspended the work of its embassy in Moscow. The decision was made by the Icelandic Foreign Ministry.
