United Airlines plane found to be missing a panel after landing
United Airlines Flight 433 from San Francisco was carrying 145 passengers and six crew members. When the plane landed safely at Rogue Valley International Airport in Oregon, it was discovered that one panel was missing – Boeing faced new safety concerns.
Photos on social media showed that the missing panel was found next to the landing gear, in the lower part of the plane. Inbound and outbound flights were suspended at the airport to search for the wreckage, but no debris was found. Fortunately, no one was injured, according to mirror.co.
Amber Judd, a spokeswoman for Medford Rogue Valley International Airport, said an investigation would be conducted "to better understand how this damage occurred."
United said it will "conduct a thorough inspection of the aircraft and make any necessary repairs before it returns to service."
This disturbing incident was the fourth emergency involving a United Airlines flight after a plane bound for Mexico City from San Francisco made an emergency landing in Los Angeles due to hydraulic problems.
In addition, another United Airlines plane made an emergency landing in Los Angeles. It was a jetliner bound for Japan that lost a wheel during takeoff from San Francisco.
Earlier, a United flight flying from Houston to Fort Myers, Texas, was forced to turn around because one of the plane's engines caught fire.
Earlier, TravelWise wrote that a window of an Alaska Airlines plane flew out during the flight.
