United Airlines expects significant load during spring break
One of the largest U.S. airlines expects peak traffic during the spring break. United Airlines said that between March 8 and April 21, the company intends to provide services for more than 21 million passengers.
It is noted that this figure is almost 10% higher than last year's statistics and is equal to 200,000 people per day. This was reported by AOL.
United Airlines estimates that the busiest day for the company will be Friday, March 22, when more than 500,000 passengers will travel. In addition, about 480,000 people will fly in the last week of the month.
Hopper's lead economist, Hayley Berg, said that despite the high demand for travel, prices have dropped significantly this year, which has led to increased competition from affordable carriers. According to Hopper, the average price of a "good deal" for those who plan their spring travel to the United States in advance has decreased by 2% compared to last year to about $250.
Also, United Airlines and the Expedia travel group named the most popular destinations for the spring season. They claim that the following destinations remain popular among travelers: Florida, Cancun (Mexico) and Las Vegas.
Earlier, TravelWise reported that Royal Caribbean and Carnival expect to increase sales in 2024.
