TSA PreCheck® Expands to Include Eight New Airlines, Enhancing Security and Efficiency

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has officially broadened the horizon of its TSA PreCheck program by welcoming eight new airline partners, marking a significant enhancement to the expedited screening initiative. This expansion includes international and domestic airlines such as Air Premia, Air Tahiti Nui, Air Transat, Bahamasair, BermudAir, Iberia, La Compagnie, and New Pacific Airlines, reflecting the program's growing appeal and utility across the global aviation landscape.

TSA PreCheck, celebrated for its streamlined security procedures, allows enrolled travelers to experience a more efficient screening process. Participants enjoy the convenience of leaving their shoes, belts, and light jackets on, alongside the benefit of not having to remove laptops, liquids, and food items from their carry-on luggage. This program is instrumental in reducing wait times, with about 99% of TSA PreCheck passengers experiencing less than 10 minutes in queue at over 200 U.S. airports, including international ones like the Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau, Bahamas.

Eligibility for TSA PreCheck extends to U.S. citizens, nationals, and lawful permanent residents. Prospective enrollees are invited to visit the TSA's website to choose between IDEMIA or Telos as their enrollment provider, based on factors such as cost and location. The enrollment process, designed for simplicity, involves a brief online application and a subsequent in-person appointment that completes the process.

Upon successful enrollment, travelers receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN), enabling them to utilize TSA PreCheck lanes across participating airlines. This system simplifies the airport experience, significantly reducing stress and wait times. Moreover, the inclusion of teenagers and children under certain conditions further streamlines travel for families.

The TSA has also ensured that assistance is readily available through various channels, including social media platforms and a dedicated contact center, enhancing the accessibility and user-friendliness of the PreCheck program.
