A stream of travelers are sharing their most overrated tourist destinations on a Reddit thread in an effort to relieve some of their frustration.

Vacation destinations that are most overrated by travelers
Dubai: "Materialistic".
Niagara Falls, New York: "A sad, decaying city".
Walt Disney World: "Overpriced".
Jamaica: "Humble".
Los Angeles: "Touristy".
Egypt: "Aggressive street vendors".
Santorini: "Crowded".
Miami: "All about looks and money".
One of the fans of the Emirates metropolis said: "Dubai is getting worse than any other tourist destination on Reddit. It's one of those places where you have to have appropriate expectations. Dubai is NOT the place to go if you are interested in culture and history. But it can be an interesting place if you want to ride the dunes, sit on the beach, or if you like futuristic architecture."
Another destination that sparked discussion among Redditors is Niagara Falls in New York.
Walt Disney World in Florida was another destination that angered Redditors. Many complained that it was overcrowded and too expensive.
Another destination that came up in the thread was Jamaica, which was "modest". One commenter advised: "In Jamaica, it's best to stay in a resort. It's not an island where you want to rent an Airbnb and rent a car and 'live like a local' like you can do on many islands in the Caribbean."
Another flurry of complaints centered on Los Angeles. One Reddit user said it wasn't because the city "sucks," but because "you have to live here to really get what the city has to offer."
Other places that made it into the Reddit chain included Egypt for "aggressive" street vendors, Santorini for being "overpopulated" and "touristy" and Miami for being "all about looks and money."
