The flight attendant talked about the Brits who cause her discomfort and make her unwilling to serve them
A British flight attendant with extensive experience in handling issues onboard shared when she prefers not to be on the same plane as her fellow citizens. She emphasized that while British passengers are not the worst, they do exhibit a behavior that often leads to trouble.
According to the crew member, British travelers, regardless of their location, tend to consume alcohol before flights. This was disclosed in the Sun Online Travel blog.
"Generally, I enjoy having British passengers on my flights as it feels like home away from home. However, there are instances that leave me feeling uneasy. This usually occurs when I observe them drinking at the airport bar before the flight," explained the unnamed flight attendant.
She further noted that drinking at the airport is common practice, but in her experience, Brits engage in this behavior more frequently than others. Drunk passengers often instigate problematic situations onboard.
The flight attendant highlighted that Brits tend to become especially intoxicated during bachelor and bachelorette parties. Group travel also tends to involve increased alcohol consumption.
"They often engage in chanting, which is typically a precursor to having to intervene once onboard. Additionally, intoxicated individuals are more prone to disruptive behavior during the flight, making our job significantly more challenging," elaborated the flight attendant.
The author of the article likened the behavior of certain British individuals in airports to that of a pub, where patrons typically consume alcohol.
She stressed that passengers have the right to consume alcohol in moderation while traveling but must maintain a reasonable level of sobriety to avoid complicating the crew's work and disturbing fellow travelers.
