The famous Tower TV tower in London will be turned into a luxury hotel: how it is possible
The famous BT Tower, located in the heart of London, will be transformed into a luxury hotel.
The American developer MCR Hotels has bought the BT Tower, a London-based radio and television station, for £275 million ($347 million). Now they want to convert it into a hotel, BT writes.
Tourists who want to admire the gorgeous view of London will soon be able to book a room.
The tower, about 190 meters high, was built in 1965 in the Fitzrovia neighborhood, a few blocks from the British Museum. It used to transmit TV and radio signals from London to other parts of the UK, but lost this function more than 10 years ago.
The 34th floor of the tower houses a revolving restaurant popular with tourists.
As TravelWise wrote, London was ranked first in the ranking of the best cities. It is called the "capital of capitals" and "reigns supreme over all global cities" as the best metropolis in the world.
