The beautiful seaside town has been labeled the "worst" place in the United Kingdom
Falmouth in Cornwall is often regarded as one of the finest seaside towns in the UK, drawing a large number of tourists each year. According to surveys, Falmouth ranked ahead of Alloa in Scotland, Peterborough in Cambridgeshire, and Crawley in West Sussex.
However, recently, the satirical travel blog I Live Here labeled Falmouth as "bland and boring," dubbing it the most dull place in the country, characterized by "soul-destroying mediocrity with a gaping cultural void." However, locals in the town disagree with this assessment and were angered by the statement. This was reported by the Express.
The average cost of houses in Falmouth is around £400,000 each, and notable individuals such as Paul Martin from the film "Spanked" and the writer Joseph Conrad have previously called the area home.
Residents of Falmouth, in response to the survey findings, assert that the town is "always bustling" and draws "countless tourists." One resident commented, "The locals are friendly, the food is excellent, and there are numerous good restaurants. The coastal walks are spectacular, offering a diverse range of experiences, and even during the busy summer months, it's still enjoyable to be here (unlike Looe and St. Ives, which, while beautiful destinations, are challenging for parking)."
