Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) is set to broaden its horizon with the introduction of its first-ever flights to Seoul, marking a significant expansion of its long-haul destinations in the 2024 summer schedule. Starting from May 7, the airline will operate a thrice-weekly non-stop service from Zurich to the South Korean capital, further enhancing its global network alongside newly announced destinations such as Washington, DC, and Toronto.

Seoul, a city that beautifully marries traditional allure with modern innovation, will now be directly accessible to SWISS passengers. Renowned for its dynamic blend of historical sites like the Gyeongbokgung Palace and modern marvels such as the N Seoul Tower, Seoul promises an enriching experience for visitors. The city's vibrant culinary scene, ranging from delectable street food to high-end gourmet restaurants, and trendy districts like Gangnam and Myeongdong, add to its appeal for both leisure and business travelers. This move not only caters to the adventurous spirit of explorers but also serves the business community, highlighting the strategic trade relationship between Switzerland and South Korea.

SWISS's Chief Commercial Officer, Heike Birlenbach, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, noting the addition of Seoul as a key strategy to meet customer demand for direct services to major global cities. The decision to include Seoul in SWISS’s summer 2024 schedule underscores the airline’s commitment to connecting cultures and facilitating international business and leisure travel.

The operation will be carried out using the Airbus A340, with eastbound flight LX122 departing Zurich at 13:40 on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, and landing in Seoul at 08:25 the next day, after an 11-hour-and-45-minute journey. The return flight, LX123, will leave Seoul at 09:55 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, reaching Zurich at 16:50. This new service not only promises convenience for travelers but also strengthens SWISS's position as a global connector, bridging distances between Europe and Asia.

Travelers eager to explore the unique charm of Seoul or those looking to engage in business with one of Asia's leading economies can now book their flights with SWISS, taking advantage of the direct link between Zurich and Seoul. This strategic expansion reflects SWISS's ongoing efforts to enhance its service offerings and address the evolving needs of its clientele, promising an exciting new chapter for both the airline and its passengers.
