Samsonite Europe Adopts Oracle Technology for Better Shopping Experience
Samsonite, known worldwide for its travel bags and accessories, is making shopping easier and more efficient in its European stores, thanks to new technology from Oracle Cloud. This move is part of Samsonite's plan to improve service for travelers in over 100 countries.
The company has started using Oracle Retail Xstore Point-of-Service systems in Europe. This means store workers can now help customers anywhere in the store, not just at the cash registers. Vincent Van Der Schueren, who oversees IT for Samsonite Europe, says this new system is all about giving customers and staff a better experience through technology.
With Oracle's technology, Samsonite's staff can see all the inventory they have, whether it's in the store or somewhere else. This helps them give customers exactly what they're looking for. Alex Alt from Oracle says they are excited to help Samsonite Europe continue improving how they sell things both in stores and online.
Samsonite didn't stop there. They also created Bagsupport, a special app to help airlines deal with damaged luggage claims and repairs. This app, built with Oracle APEX and run on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, is expected to save airlines both time and money.
With these changes, Samsonite Europe is not just selling bags. They're also leading the way in using technology to make shopping better for travelers.
