Qatar Airways Introduces Flexible Ticketing Policies for Schedule Changes
Qatar Airways (QR) has announced updated guidelines for tickets to or from Medan (KNO), with new policies taking effect from April 23, 2024. These guidelines cover rebooking, refunds, and endorsements for tickets that are affected by schedule changes, with key provisions to ensure a smoother experience for passengers.
If you have a ticket on QR flights to or from Medan (KNO) with a confirmed schedule change, you can rebook once for free. This rebooking is allowed within 21 days from the original travel date, into the lowest available booking class within the same cabin. This flexibility extends to flights to Jakarta (CGK) and Kuala Lumpur (KUL), with the option to include connections on Malaysia Airlines (MH) operated flights between Kuala Lumpur and Medan.
Refunds are permitted under the updated guidelines, with a penalty waiver for the unused portion of the ticket and related taxes. However, non-refundable taxes, excluding fully unutilized fuel surcharges, are not eligible for refund. These policies apply to Qatar Airways/157 tickets issued under certain conditions, but do not extend to group travel or transfers of electronic miscellaneous documents (EMD) group deposits. Customers who fall into these excluded categories should contact their local Qatar Airways office or the Customer Contact Center for further assistance.
Qatar Airways' new guidelines aim to provide greater flexibility and support for passengers whose travel plans have been disrupted by schedule changes, ensuring that rebooking and refunds are handled efficiently. As always, it's advisable to check with Qatar Airways or your travel agent for any additional information or clarification on the updated policies before making any travel-related decisions.
