Qantas unloaded the luggage of 60 passengers before Taylor Swift's concert in Sydney: fans are dissatisfied
Friday, February 23, was marred by an unpleasant incident with luggage for some Qantas passengers. The airline was forced to unload the bags of more than 60 travelers before flying from Queenstown to Sydney, en route to a Taylor Swift concert.
Strong winds and a short runway at the airport forced Qantas to take on extra fuel. This, in turn, led to the forced unloading of luggage so that the Boeing 737-800 with 174 passengers on board could take off and land safely, Simple Flying writes.
Many of those whose luggage was unloaded were flying to Sydney to see Taylor Swift perform. This was an additional disappointment for fans who were expecting to receive their belongings before the concert or had chosen outfits specifically for the event.
Qantas Airlines delivered the unloaded luggage on the next flight and sent it to the customers by courier. However, passengers received their belongings only after the concert.
In addition to unloading the luggage, several passengers were reportedly removed from the flight. This allowed the plane to load even more fuel.
As a reminder, the world-famous star Taylor Swift performed at the Accor Stadium in Sydney 4 times, from February 23 to February 26.
As previously reported by TravelWise, Qantas announced the postponement of the start of its long-awaited direct flight between Sydney and New York.
