Passenger flies 20 feet falling from Air Canada plane: what happened to him
An Air Canada passenger had a traumatic incident. The plane, which was scheduled to depart from Toronto Pearson Airport to Dubai on Tuesday evening, was delayed due to serious injuries to one of the travelers.
He fell from a height of about 20 feet from the open door of the aircraft cabin, PYOK writes. The incident occurred on flight AC56, which was scheduled to depart Toronto around 21:35 for an 11-hour flight.
The flight to the Middle East was delayed for 9 hours because the tourist needed medical attention and hospitalization.
The airline's spokesperson confirmed that one of the 319 passengers on the Boeing 777-300 boarded the plane without raising suspicion, but instead of taking his seat, he went to the opposite side of the plane and opened the cabin door.
Since there was no staircase, the traveler went down and had to be taken to a local hospital. It is unclear why the passenger did this, whether it was a premeditated or accidental act.
At that moment, the Boeing 777-300 was still near the gate, so the emergency ladders were not activated and did not inflate automatically.
An Air Canada spokesperson assured that "all approved boarding and operational procedures were followed."
