Marriott International, Inc. has recently inked a deal with Vasilakis SA to introduce the prestigious JW Marriott brand to Greece. Set to unveil its grandeur in 2025, the JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa will sprawl across 100 acres of picturesque coastal landscape, beckoning discerning travelers in search of opulent retreats coupled with impeccable service and holistic wellness offerings.
SWOT Hospitality, renowned for its adept management of luxury hotels across Greece, will join forces with Vasilakis SA and Marriott International as the third-party operator for this franchised property. Their collaboration promises to infuse the JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa with unparalleled expertise and a commitment to excellence in hospitality.
Nestled on the outskirts of Chania, JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa will grace the shores of Marathi Beach, renowned for its crystalline, shallow waters and serving as a gateway to exploration in Crete. Chania, a quaint medieval town, boasts some of Greece's most pristine beaches, ancient castles, and breathtaking vistas. The property's strategic location offers convenient access to Chania Airport and is just a scenic two-hour drive from Heraklion International Airport.
Crafted by the esteemed architectural firm Block722, JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa is poised to seamlessly blend contemporary elegance with authentic Cretan heritage. Envisioned to encompass 160 exquisitely appointed luxury guestrooms, each suite and villa will boast a private pool or jacuzzi.
In addition to luxurious accommodations, the resort will feature serene wellness sanctuaries such as the JW Garden and an array of culinary delights, including a traditional Cretan eatery and a beachfront dining venue. Further amenities include multiple swimming pools, a fitness center, beach club, spa facilities, and Family by JW experiences.
"Greece continues to allure global travelers, making it one of the most coveted destinations," remarks Jerome Briet, Chief Development Officer, Europe, Middle East & Africa, Marriott International. "The signing of JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa underscores the persisting demand for luxury accommodations nationwide. We eagerly anticipate collaborating with Vasilakis SA and SWOT Hospitality to introduce JW Marriott's hallmark hospitality, sophisticated design, and immersive well-being experiences to the idyllic island of Crete."
