Lufthansa Introduces Convenient Check-in at Seoul Station City-Airport Terminal

Lufthansa passengers can now enjoy the convenience of checking in for their flights at the Seoul Station City-Airport Terminal. This new service allows customers to check their bags directly to their final destination and complete immigration procedures before arriving at the airport. Lufthansa is currently the only foreign airline offering such a service in Korea.
This initiative is part of Lufthansa's ongoing efforts to enhance connectivity between Germany and South Korea. Lufthansa's first service from Frankfurt to Seoul began on October 31, 1984, with a stop in Anchorage, Alaska. Over the years, Lufthansa has expanded its services, offering direct flights and now introducing an intermodal transport solution through a partnership with Korean rail provider KTX.
Through this partnership, Lufthansa passengers can travel seamlessly from Seoul-Incheon International Airport (ICN) to eight KTX destinations nationwide, including Busan, Dongdaegu, Gwangju, Ulsan, Pohang, Yeosu, Mokpo, and Jinju. This service, combined with the AREX Airport Railroad Express from Seoul Station to Incheon International Airport, ensures a smooth travel experience. Passengers can obtain boarding passes, check their luggage, and complete immigration procedures at the Seoul Station City-Airport Terminal.
Leandro Tonidandel, Lufthansa Group Country Manager for Korea, highlighted the benefits of this service, stating, "At Lufthansa Group, we are transforming the travel journey with every step. Our pioneering check-in facility at Seoul's main train station redefines convenience while championing sustainability, offering travelers a seamless and eco-friendly journey."
Lufthansa’s new check-in facility at Seoul Station City-Airport Terminal launches today, demonstrating the airline's commitment to enhancing travel experiences for its passengers. Alongside the recently announced 17 weekly frequencies between Europe and Korea, and the first direct connection between Seoul and Zurich, this service further solidifies Lufthansa's presence in Korea.
