JetBlue Lands Its First Italy Route
JetBlue has launched a daily summer-seasonal service between Boston Logan and Milan Malpensa, marking the airline’s first route in Italy. The new transatlantic flight expands JetBlue’s Boston network to nine nonstop European destinations for summer. Introductory one-way fares are available for a limited time, starting at $399 or €449 in Core, depending on direction.
The Milan launch follows JetBlue’s recent Boston additions, including Barcelona earlier this spring and previous seasonal routes to Madrid and Edinburgh. Its summer Europe network from Boston now includes Amsterdam, London Heathrow, Paris, Barcelona, Dublin, Edinburgh, London Gatwick, Madrid and Milan. The airline says the new route strengthens Boston’s role as a transatlantic hub.
Flights are operated with JetBlue’s A321 aircraft, offering Core, EvenMore and Mint cabins. Core includes free snacks, drinks, a complimentary meal and seatback entertainment. EvenMore adds extra legroom and other benefits, while Mint offers private suites with fully lie-flat seats. All passengers can use JetBlue’s free high-speed Fly-Fi during the flight.
The route gives Boston passengers easier access to Milan’s fashion districts, Duomo, galleries, design scene and business centres. It also opens simple onward trips to Lake Como, the Italian Alps and other parts of northern Italy. For people starting in Milan, Boston offers historic neighbourhoods, museums, universities and onward JetBlue links across the United States, Florida, California and the Caribbean.
The launch adds a useful direct option on a route that connects two strong business, culture and education cities. Price will decide how attractive it becomes beyond the launch fares, but the schedule gives summer passengers another way to reach northern Italy without connecting elsewhere. It also shows JetBlue is still carefully growing its European map through Boston.
