Jet-setting: a new form of travel that is becoming very popular among fans
A new trend is gaining popularity worldwide - visiting TV and movie filming locations. More and more people are following the footsteps of their favorite TV series or movies.
It turns out that many people draw inspiration for their travel plans from the places featured in their beloved TV shows and movies. This trend is highlighted in an article by The Guardian magazine.
The article emphasizes that the so-called "set jetting" is one of the most popular new travel trends. According to a study commissioned by Expedia, proximity to a movie or TV show location is now a significant factor in people's vacation plans. Two-thirds of travelers have considered traveling after seeing a place featured in a TV show or movie.
Travel experts suggest that this trend emerged following the pandemic restrictions. The explanation is simple: many people discovered incredible places during the quarantine and developed a desire to visit them.
Additionally, tourists are also attracted by whether a particular establishment has been frequented by members of the crew of a specific TV series or movie. Grant McGeady, director of entertainment sales at Hilton Hotels, states, "We can educate hotels on what to expect and how to cater to this demographic."
For travelers obsessed with TV shows, Hilton offers many hotels located near these points of interest. So, if you want to visit the filming locations of your favorite TV shows, a Hilton set is the way to go.
One Day
Netflix's adaptation of David Nicholls' novel received acclaim upon its release in February. Filming took place across Europe, including Rome, Paros in Greece, and Edinburgh. Many memorable scenes, however, were shot in London. For instance, Emma (Ambika Maude) and Dexter (Leo Woodall) share a moment on Primrose Hill, while the Old Suffolk Punch pub in Hammersmith serves as Loco Caliente, where Emma occasionally works. Bella Roma in Lewisham and Maoz on Old Compton Street were also featured.
