Indian Railways has announced changes for passengers that will take effect from April 1
Indian Railways has made several changes to its rules for the comfort of its passengers. One of these changes will soon allow individuals to pay for general class tickets using Quick Response (QR) via the country's popular Unified Payments Interface (UPI) payment platform.
The changes will take effect on April 1. It is reported by Zee Business.
This effectively means that those who want to travel by public train on the railway network do not have to pay cash for their reservations and will be able to pay digitally using UPI QR applications such as Google Pay and PhonePe.
The railroad will provide online ticketing services at ticket offices at railway stations.
