In the US, a passenger airplane makes emergency landing after losing part of its fuselage and a window
In the United States, a part of the fuselage of a passenger airplane flew off during a flight, along with a window. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
It is noted that Alaska Airlines flight 1282 was en route from Portland to Ontario. The plane took off at about 17:07 local time and returned at 17:27 after "the crew reported a pressure problem," CBSNews reports.
"It was very abrupt. As soon as we got up to altitude, the window/wall just flew off and I didn't notice it until we took off our oxygen masks," said Kyle Rinker, a passenger on the plane.
Alaska Airlines has temporarily suspended the operation of its aircraft. It is currently working with Boeing to understand what caused the incident. According to the FAA, the 737 Max 9 received its airworthiness certificate on October 25, 2023.
