The widest underwater tunnel in Europe will be built in Genoa, Italy.
According to the Italian government, the tunnel will be 3.4 km long and laid at a depth of 45 meters. Its diameter will be approximately 16 m, making it the fourth largest in the world. Almost €1 billion has been allocated for the construction of the tunnel, as reported by Wanted in Rome.
The work is scheduled to be completed in 2029.
